Repentance: One must Repent to be Saved

Some people want to go to Heaven, but they want to live their life like they are going to Hell. They want to live as they please. Getting saved does not work that way. If you come in your mind and receive Christ so you can go to Heaven, and then you go out and live as you please, you are not repenting. Without repentance you cannot be Saved. So anyone coming with that in your mind, will not be Saved.

Anyone that wants to be Saved has to repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ. If a person repents of their sin and gets Saved they could never be the same if they wanted to be anyway. Because you are born again spiritually, and there is no going back to being that same person that you were before. Now a Saved person will still sin, but they won't enjoy it, because God will not let us. The book of 1 John teaches us that. So do not deceive yourselves, you must be willing to repent and accept Jesus Christ as your savior to be Saved.

Repentance is changing your mind about Jesus Christ and turning to God in faith for salvation ( Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19 ). Turning from sin is not the definition of repentance, but it is one of the results of accepting Jesus Christ as your saviour.
